This past weekend memories were made that myself, my husband and especially B and all of his friends will NEVER forget. Not only did B turn 3...THREE, but, his birthday party was at our local Fire Department. Yes, you read that right. How cool is that?! My husband and I won a silent auction prize at a fundraiser for a local nonprofit organization Project Nova to have a birthday party at our local Fire Department. A Firefighter, Fire Truck, Fire House themed 3rd Birthday Party AT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT! You can imagine how excited I was to get planning for this once in a lifetime experience!

Fire Truck Birthday Party

You all know how much I LOVE planning parties and other than my wedding this was certainly the most exciting event I have planned yet! I am not kidding. I kept the location of the party a surprise, so B had no idea until the moment we pulled up to the Fire Department the day of his birthday party. Mind. Blown!

The party itself was held inside the bay of the Fire Department, I mean what a perfect back drop, doesn't get better than that. They removed all the trucks with the exception of one Fire Truck and two ambulances. The crew set up tables and chairs and I brought in games, a face painter, party favors, food and a pinata! The party was on fire to say the least!!

Sound the Alarm! The moment we won the Birthday Party at the Fire Department I got started on the details. My vision would not come to fruition if it was not for my handy husband. He created two games that were the main events of the party other than the venue of course! He hand made two matching sets of a children's version of cornhole. They were made to look like burning brick buildings with hinged flames on the windows that you knocked down with "flame" looking bean bags I purchased from Target. He also made a coordinating kid sized coat rack that I hung a Melissa and Doug Fireman Costume on the hooks. I borrowed 3 road cones from the Fire Department to create and obstacle course where the children had to put on all the fire gear and run through the cones while being timed with a stopwatch! Both games were such a blast!!

I set up a table with the party favors which included the coolest fire truck favor boxes the kids were so excited about these! I packed each one with fire themed goodies, stickers, play-doh, a fireman badge, chocolate, firefighter themed tattoos and a pull back fire truck toy. I also purchased fire hydrant cups, fireman hats, and a firehouse sticker activity all from Oriental Trading.

I cannot thank the fire crew enough for making B's third Birthday party "THE BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER"! I honestly can say that B nor his friends will ever forget this party! The firefighters were all so social and accommodating, showing the kids the trucks, and the pole, the rookie even joined in the party fun getting his face painted (he immediately washed it off post photo opt in the event he got a call)! I will never forget this day. Ever!

Thank you "Captain Shawn" and Crew!

This Rookie was such a good sport and got his face painted with the kids. Don't worry he immediately washed his face after this photo shoot in case he got a call.

The Birthday Party Invitations were made by Alyssa from Just a Little Sparkle and they were just perfect, not only did they tie together my fire truck with a splash of dalmatian theme, but she was so accommodating with my many requests. Be sure to check her out her shop on Etsy!
