Easter Carrot Rice Krispies Treats!

OMG! How cute are these carrot Rice Krispies Treats! Bring these for a classroom treat or Easter party and you will be the coolest mom on the block!

I was browsing through Pinterest and stumbled upon these and had to try them. They are easy peasy and super cute for Easter! Make extra as I had a few casualties while assembling them.

To make these bad boys here's what you need:

I got everything at @MichaelStores and @Target.

Rice Krispies Treats Carrots

Directions:

  1. Cut each treat in half lengthwise and then cut them in half diagonally... think carrot shape :)

  2. Use parchment paper to line a cookie sheet

  3. Take each carrot shape treat and insert a toothpick in the flat end

  4. Place treats on cookie sheet and place in freezer for 10 minutes or so

  5. Microwave your orange candy melts in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until melted

  6. Pick up each treat by the toothpick and spoon melted candy over each covering the treat entirely

  7. Return to cookie sheet

  8. Let set in refrigerator for 15 mins

  9. Cut several pieces of the edible Easter grass to desired length for the carrot tops

  10. Take each "carrot" and CAREFULLY (this is the tricky part) remove the toothpick PRO TIP: grab the toothpick as close to the base of the carrot where it is inserted as possible. Move it in slow circular motions to enlarge the hole making it big enough to insert the edible grass. (Be SURE that the toothpick has been removed entirely... I had to toss a few treats as the toothpick broke inside)

  11. Depending on how large the hole is take a few strands of the edible grass and dip the ends into the remaining orange candy melt and push them in the hole to set

These are so cute! You can display them on a serving plate or pack them in individual treat bags.
